Cole and Jacob's Crazy Weekend!

Well this past weekend Cole Presley stepped into the cage once again. This was not just any cage but it was the Total Cage combat A pretty big step up from some of his past competitions. Cole continues to grow and grow as a fighter and it showed this past weekend as he finished the fight in the first round striking down on his opponent from the mount. It was a an especially good fight for Cole being that it was seen even by the eyes of the great George St. Pierre! But that's not all....the weekend seemed to have an unexpected twist that shows you what kind of team we are putting together and training with here at the Clinch...

When Cole and Jacob, who went down to corner Cole, got to the hotel after the fight it seemed that Cole was unable to sleep due to to all the excitement. About 2 am Cole decides to go outside and get some fresh air. Meanwhile, Jacob is out cold. When Cole stepped outside he runs into some guys who are chattin and he thought they might have been there from the fights. So he goes over to talk to them and it turns out that they are some Lloyd Irvin guys who were there for the mission submission tournament that was taking place the next day. They told Cole that they should go check it out. Cole being excited about the tournament, woke Jacob and told him about the tournament and they decided to stick around the next day to watch.

As it turns out, Jacob had all of his training gear with him and out of nowhere decides to compete. After one decision win and one submission victory Jacob won the no-gi advanced division. Impressed with his victories, Mike Moses from Evolve Academy- told Jacob he should fight in the pro division as well. After some consideration Jacob agreed to fight. His first fight was against not just a BJJ black belt but a Brazilian BJJ black belt. Jacob submits him with a rear naked choke! Jacob moves on to submit his next opponent and ends up in the finals against Wilson Reis. Wilson Reis if you don't know is a very active competitor with a list of medals to long to name. He recently fought in EliteXC on showtime as well. All though Wilson submitted Jacob it was a great fight and at one point Jacob almost has his classic guillotine sunk in. Not bad for a unexpected opportunity to compete. Jacob with little sleep, not much to eat and having fought 3 more fights than Wilson Reis by the time they met in the finals, still looked and fought like a pro!

I told Jacob and Cole that it's not safe to leave them alone! Congratulations guys and thanks for representing team Clinch with class!
