A Look Ahead

As October is quickly approaching we have alot to look forward to.

1st - We can look forward to training at the new Academy the first week of October.
2nd - We can look forward to some additions to the schedule.
3rd - We are participating at the "Frederick in the Streets Festival" on Oct. 3rd.
4th - There is a local N.A.G.A. grappling competition on Oct 10th.
5th - We will have our Grand Re-Opening on the 17th.
6th - Marylands 1st MMA fight card will be in Baltimore on the 24th!!


I can't wait to be in the New Academy the first week of October. I am excited for you all to be in there training and bringing the place to life. When we move I will be adding a few additions to the schedule that will be geared toward our more advanced crowd. I am making 3 additions right away.

Schedule Additions

1 = Level 3 jiu-jitsu. This jiu-jitsu open mat time will be held on Monday and Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. This is a time for anyone who is blue belt and above to train in open mat format.

2 = Level 2 Kickboxing. This class will take place during the usual kickboxing 101 classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:45-7:45 p.m. This also will be an open drill format where tuesday night will be set for pad and partner drills while thursday will be set for sparring and sparring drills. You must be invited to move up to this class.

3 = I will also be starting a 3-5 year old kids class on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.-12:15p.m. This class will be about fun and coordination more than anything else but the kids will learn very basic jiu-jitsu, wrestling and kickboxing skills as well. This class will not begin immediately but sometime in October.


In The Streets

At In the Streets we will have a stand set up and maybe some mats as well to put on a demonstration of Jiu-Jitsu, Kick boxing and MMA. I will also be setting this up to promote our fighters who will be on the first MMA card iin Baltimore at the end of the month. If your interested in participating let me know.

N.A.G.A. Comes to Landover, MD

N.A.G.A. will be in Landover, Md on October 10th. This is a great opportunity for you to compete in a big tournament without having to drive to JERSEY!!! A few people have all ready mentioned that they are going. Are you??

Grand Re-Opening

October 17th will be the day we invite the public to come and check out our new facility and to get a look at what goes on "Inside the Clinch". I would like to host

1. - A workshop on this day called the "MMA Rundown" where people are invited to come learn the 3 pillars of MMA.

2. - Our Next Clinch Combat Challenge

3. - Open mat time viewable to the public

4. - ???? any ideas???


First MMA Fightcard in Maryland

October 24th we will have Jacob "The Hunter" Kirwan, Paul Mann and Joey Kirwan all fighting in Shogun Fights in Baltimore Maryland. Jacob is coming off a dominating performance in D.C. last month and we need to go support all of our fighters in Baltimore!
