Check the video out below to see more. Our own Judy Riley is connected to this mission in a deep and personal way as she has adopted from Sierra Leone. Here is a message from Judy:
"These are the kids we're raising $ for. Erin and I are most likely going out in September to get these kids set up in "the Covering". Also... note to any Clinch members, if they are interested in going along to Sierra Leone, please see me!"
Not only will your $20 work shop fee be donated to this great cause but whatever we collect at the work shop will also be matched by Jason Montgomery's business... BDR Express! Just another good reason to attend this work shop!
John 9:1-7 (New King James Version)
1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I[a] must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
So why does God allow such things to take place? Why does God allow kids to suffer without parents, without homes, even with out food? So that His power may be known! While Christ was in the world, He was the light of the world. But now He has sent His Spirit so that we could finish the works of God. This mans blindness is a physical symbol of the blindness that is in the world. Just as God made clay and cleansed this mans eyes and restored His vision, He also cleanses the blindness that is in the eyes of our hearts and restores our vision so that we can see. After he put clay on this mans eyes He "sent" him to wash it off. Christ(God the Son) was sent by God the Father and Christ sent this man. So he went...and he was healed. By the time you are sent, you have no choice but to go. You will have to wash the mud off our eyes. God sent Christ and now Christ sent His Holy Spirit and His Holy Spirit sends us to finish the works of God by the power of His Spirit. Later on that man worshiped Christ for he knew that He was God. He once was blind but now (by the grace of God) he sees.
